Why South Africa is suddenly good at relays...

South Africa has always had good athletes. Upon our first inclusion into the Olympics after Apartheid, we won the defining event of the ancient Olympics - the marathon. We've had above-average middle distance runners in past but today, we have a generation of really fast guys across many events. Akani Simbine & Wayde van Niekerk being the faces of the recent sprinting renaissance in South Africa.  The relay mentality :  As much as there's chaos & anarchy in South Africa, there are pockets of order. This is why we rarely fuddle simple tasks. Our army for example, isn't the best in Africa but we get some small basic things right. And if you can get small basic things right, you can do surprisingly well. And this is why relays are almost perfect for South Africa. We are seldom wasteful because we don't often have the luxury of plenty & relays are about efficiency as much as they are about speed. That switch between athletes in a race can cost you or save you a ...

My Athlete Network

The teams I would buy currently in January 2025 to start my own Red Bull-type athlete network .  Enyimba (Nigeria) US$ 100 000 Nkana FC (Zambia) Asante Kotoko (Ghana) € 2,05 m Hafia FC (Guinea) € 75 000  Barnsley € 2,09 m  FC Astana € 2,05 m  Águia de Marabá FC € 250 000  EC Cruzeiro € 100 000  BASKETBALL:   Caxias do Sul   Campo Mourão  AAB Joinville  I would change the Nkana FC logo to this upon purchase (incase of copyright issues with Manchester United). I would place three over 23-years-old, local players (on merit) in each team. Each team would have a similar system of play, coaching & lifestyle.  Other football teams I'd consider adding to the network depending on finances, profitability & access to better competitions.

The All - Africa Games / Africa Games.

I don't get why these games aren't as popular either or why tickets or tournament packages aren't advertised. I've only ever heard of these games but they're never shown on TV. For all in the developed world who think African games would simply be running, javelin, stick fighting, wrestling / laamb & basic fighting / MMA - you're in for a surprise. I don't know who has money to be doing equestrian in the African continent but below are sports in the African Games. Being an Olympic-orientated organisation, shouldn't they take a leaf from how the Olympics are organised? They can't be found on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or, at least, some African social media website.
