The strange idea of southern KZN being an independent kingdom...

You know, since 2017, I've been exposed to quiet a few independence movements... but southern KZN Independence makes the least sense. Apparently, two kings have proposed this; the Hlubi king (King Langalibalele Mthimkhulu III) & Nhlangwane king (King Melizwe Dlamini). Both kings sought to claim the territory between Thukela River in KwaZulu-Natal & Umzimvubu River in the Eastern Cape. This is the same territory that the Voortrekkers asked from King Dingane & known as the southern most extent of the Zulu Empire since 1828. Their theory goes; Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi falsely suggested the name KwaZulu-Natal for the province as, they claim, the entire region was not ruled by the Zulu king. They say all this while speaking Zulu & being blood relatives of the Zulu Royal Family. The Nhlangwini king claimed  the region should be named Natal while the Hlubi king claims the region should be called Embo (after the ancient culture that existed before Nguni & Zulu ru...

De-globalisation.

A USA citizen illegally enters forbidden North Sentinel Island. I think when people complain about colonisation, it's usually the loss of the indigenous way of life & not modernisation or industrialisation. Indigenous people can still live with their ancient customs & be modernised. As much as the Eurasian way of life was starkly different from everywhere else until the 1400s, human existence still requires the same necessities. The Eurasian way of life just managed to create a way of living that was more comfortable than the more natural way of life that existed on other continents. The Eurasian way of life originates from the very same systems that more primitive peoples lived under, so much so that it was quite easy to translate European ideologies to African societies & vice versa on some occassions.  De-globalisation   I understand how indigenous people worldwide can feel that they have lost control of their lands & it's a very reasonable sentiment. It wou...

Afrikaners getting free pass to American citizenship.

With Afrikaners getting immediate refugee status in the USA & Trump quickening their legal status in the USA, I don't see much changing except maybe three things:  • It will bleed South Africa of some technical skills: Farmers are quite comfortable in South Africa & their assets would be much harder to sell if they wanted to move. The whites moving to the USA are likely younger, more willing to work & have less possessions.  • Because South Africa does not share the same Western sentiments that Afrikaners have, whites that move to America will likely end up staying in a country that gets them. With the World Cup & Olympics in the near future happening in the USA, Afrikaners that go to the USA are likely in for a enviable stay in America.  • And because the USA is a more open-minded country with more races than South Africa. White Afrikaners' racist sentiments might subside or they might find more groups that share their ideology in the USA.  Black Ame...

Why continents never really had names.

Before modern transport, people likely stayed in the same region for most of their lives so they usually named their nations & surrounding nations but never their continents. When Europe was named by the Greeks, they most likely meant the places in Europe that the Greeks & Romans had mapped which was around the Mediterranean not necessarily northern Europe. It was only much later on that the term Europe came to refer the whole modern-day continent of Europe.  The name "Asia" has a similar origin. Asia was originally just the middle east & the Levant. It was given this name by the Greeks. Today,  people reference the "near East" (Turkey & Lebanon), the Middle East (Arab states & Israel), south Asia (India & Bangladesh) & Far East Asia (China, Korea & Japan). All these regions likely had their own native names but ultimately fell under the uniform Greek name "Asia". Africa comes from the Phoenician word IfrÄ«qiyyah . When the R...

The problem with a single African currency.

Preword: It's funny because one of the main reasons I found the courage to blog on African matters was due to a West African(?) gentleman who proposed the concept of a said "swal" & "zul" as a continental African currency in a blog. His boldness & conviction in his idea just captivated me & today I have to debunk this idea of his. But, hopefully, Africa sees why. African technologies & financial solutions Oh, Africa. We are so romantic; "United States of Africa", "Single African currency", "African unity", "Ubuntu"... all these fluffy, lovey-dovey concepts that will be ripped to shreds in the globalised world.  I debunked why a United States of Africa would likely collapse as soon as it sees the light of day. Today, I will debunk the concept of a "Single African currency" & explain why it would leave our enemies salivating.  I can't blame people who like stuff like United States of Africa...

Why life outside the West is perceived to be dark & bleak.

The West has managed to manipulate the world to favour them & we can only admire what they have accomplished. Most Western countries have managed to make their world all about them & their best interests while outside of the West, it is about survival & an undetermined course of life. Outside the West is the developing world & the "Global South", these are lands that do not fully believe in the Western/United Nation's concept of Human Rights for whatever reason. The problem in my world is that nobody seems to know what "freedom" really is, is it uncontrolled anarchy or individual room to practice free will within a certain legal framework?  While the world has embraced democracy, the Global South (Africa, in this case) still sees the concept of everyone having a voice as not as important. I'll admit that some people are just liars (or propagandists) & can't really be trusted with what they say so their voice is not as important as ind...

A solution for disenfranchised black Americans.

I'd like to start by saying my level of understanding of black America is of an outsider & will always be of an outsider, all I know is basic sociology & human interaction that allowed me to create this solution.  I believe if the USA really wanted African Americans to leave to Liberia/Maryland, they should've made the transition as easy as possible. Maybe even offer free trips & benefits... but Liberia had established tribes who lived there so maybe they could've got an island off the coast of Africa or some island in the Atlantic Ocean. My best solution for a black Usonian state would be to get the island Haiti & Dominican Republic currently is... make that a US state just for black people. And in time, grant it independence. Haitians & Dominicans could still speak Creole, French & Spanish & do whatever they did before... The new country could be called Ayiti... they could consider themselves as part of Africa or the Americas or both... I c...

Systems are better than individualism.

In football we get teams now that use "systems". It's no longer a football team buying just the best players, they buy the best players for the system. I believe that this can work for top level governance structures in a land also. I myself prefer early 2000s free-flowing football that allowed more expression but I've seen how devastating well-implemented systems in football can be to my preferred (outdated) style of romantic football. So if you can't beat them, join them. A well-engineered system is often near unbeatable. People will be people & they will always be imperfect but you can create a system that can utilise the strengths & imperfections of a people to create a successful land. What am I talking about? The three examples below are systems that realise the imperfections of people & uses them to benefit a land.  Compulsory military service: It is a given that people need certain skills in a land & enjoy doing certain things more. As mal...

The truth about black countries.

A while back I wrote a blog called " Are black people really incapable of governing themselves? " and noted various reasons of why black countries almost never reach certain heights. I know the stereotype of black people is often very negative in developed countries but this is all psychosocial & often engineered to be so. Corruption & criminality are not exclusively black things. We have many law-abiding black people who just want to live ordinary lives. The only time black people want to be the main attraction is usually in communities where they are mentally made to be like that. No normal black child grows up just wanting to be corrupt or a criminal without external influences. Not every black person is a criminal & bad behaviour as well as good behaviour is taught. A black society can teach positive behaviours. You might call me "well-trained" or a "house negro" but what does being a criminal often get you other than jail? You can rob a ba...

Your world is not the same as all others.

The problem with the broader world is we judge people of different lands by our own land's norms. In precolonial Africa, many crimes were punished by just a spear to the gut. No reform in jail. If you break a law, you have to flee the land or be killed. Today, such punishment is illegal in South Africa but we won't judge our forefathers for they lived in a different time despite them being known murderers. Muslims & Jews are homophobic by default because of their holy scripture. Now, if we say they must be inclusive towards homosexuals, to them that's being sinful & against their faith.  Some societies are extremely promiscuous & it's the (controversial) norm. Religious & developed countries might look at this behaviour of promiscuity & think it's degenerate behavior. We live in different lands, worlds, ideologies & cultures... we are not all alike. We live in different worlds but globalisation has made us concern ourselves with matters of fo...

Ireland.

It's said that Muammar Gaddafi used to fund Irish rebels. I guess he also believed in a united Ireland. Looking at Ireland, you can see a chunk of the land (Northern Ireland) has been removed & incorporated into Great Britain. In the book Things Fall Apart , they also mention that Ireland has been colonised. Now, I wonder how much Ireland's colonisation is linked to Africa's colonisation. The political map of Ireland doesn't look complete with a part of it incorporated into the United Kingdom.  I think a united Ireland is also something the big brains of the world should look into. If it meant so much to an African icon like Gaddafi, I think Africans should look into this decolonised/united Ireland issue. Ireland uses English in their land more than their native Gaelic language... signs of a colonised land.

How learning foreign cultures & languages can help you...

• Studying foreign cultures & languages offers an escape if you're caught in a one-dimensional world. • We all know that being stuck in a one-dimensional world has a toll on your mental health so as well as providing an escape from a dead-end world, learning foreign languages helps keep you sane . • When you know many languages, it opens up avenues & opportunities for you in the job market. • It decreases xenophobia by decreasing ignorance of a foreign people, once you know why a certain people do things in a certain  way, it helps you understand them & you stop othering them. • It helps you understand the world & geopolitics better when you understand the laws & ways of being of certain lands.

Why a United States of Africa won't work as well as it's instigators think it will.

Many have heard of the story of Babylon where people of many nations united to build a giant ziggurat so they could reach God or be like God. So either God's angels or God Himself confused their languages so they could separate & go to different lands. I'm not sure what this story is meant to teach myself but I think I get the just of it. Simply; God hates multiculturalism . What does God have against forcing people together who are from different lands & speak different languages? Why would God hate this? Maybe this explains why every empire or forced unification of people has never stood the test of time. Why do we preach global unity or continental unity when God has shown in the past that He is against this? Why is He against multiculturalism? Well, I did some research. Multi-ethnic lands do seem to be more hateful or racist towards outsiders. If not, they are often murder capitals or crime capitals of the world (see image below). Is it just simply human nature ...

Is the USA really Africa's friend?

I think on the African continent, we tend to forget history & almost go asking for the same treatment from our enemies that they've consistently shown for centuries in many cases.  In the world of geopolitics, the USA has almost always assumed to be a "friend * " of Africa when the reality is shockingly the opposite. The HIV/AIDS virus that was said to be found among "gay people in the USA" then "monkeys in Africa" is said to have been artificially manufactured in the USA then spread in Africa. The Apartheid government, in hopes to reduce the black population, deliberately spread AIDS among South Africa's black people... KZN & Eswatini in particular. I'm of the belief that the USA is disappointed that South Africa never became like them, a land where the natives were forced into small reserves. A land where the native people were removed from the governance of their own land.  The same USA that openly admitted to destroying Libya & ...
