AFCON ticket sales.

As I watch Burkina Faso versus Mauritania, I notice that parts of the stadium in Ivory Coast are empty. Maybe this is a less popular game & people would like to watch teams that are favourites like Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon or Senegal. I blogged once how a problem of empty stadiums could be solved in a league but a continental tournament might need a different strategy. I get that Africa isn't the wealthiest continent but are not ticket sales a way to make revenue for this continental tournament? Then surely, ticket sales need to be improved because it would be increasingly difficult for African football to gain finances without ticket sales. This can be done at posting adverts in the media of the more populous qualified countries or countries that can afford a tournament package. A tournament package can be done by selling combined return plane ticket, Visa & accomodation stay to particular groups. Maybe Asians, South Americans & Europeans could be shown such tournament packages as well to watch an AFCON tournament just so we don't limit our market base for this product to Africa alone. 



In South Africa, I did not see a single AFCON ticket advertisement in our media for this tournament & South Africa did qualify for it. I'm sure some South Africans would've loved to know how much it costs to go to Ivory Coast & watch Bafana Bafana or another team at AFCON, the conditions, accomodation etc. a month or two before the tournament starts. Some wealthier people might need just a week's notice to find money to buy an AFCON ticket & plane ticket. Game ticket advertising has been non-existent. Maybe even the CAF website or app could be used to buy tickets but I wouldn't know if they do because AFCON ticket advertising is nowhere.

What did King Shaka look like?

I've heard some people quoting from King Shaka's praises claiming that he was "like the sun" therefore light-skinned. But I'd like to ask how comparisons with the sun equate with being light-skinned? If anything, if King Shaka was light-skinned, they'd compare him to something terrestrial like the colour of a cow hide, wood or other object because very few extraterrestrial objects have the colour of any human skin. Even white people are called "ondlebe zikhanya ilanga" ('those who have translucent ears") & not  "abakhanya okwelanga" ("those who shine like the sun"). King Shaka's mother was from Elangeni & there is the Langa clan in KZN, all of them are black with many being exceptionally dark-skinned so I don't think the comparisons comparing King Shaka with the sun have anything to do with his complexion. Comprehensive classification of Ngoni / Nguni groups.

List of Ngoni / Nguni nations : • Bhaca • Hlubi • Mpondo • Ndebele (northern Ndebele in Mthwakazi & southern Ndebele in Gauteng, South Africa) • Ngoni / Jere / Jele (mainly in Malawi, northern Mozambique, southern Tanzania, Zambia) • Nhlangwini    • Shangaan  • Swazi  • Tembu • Xhosa • Zizi • Zulu Altogether, twelve (12) "Nguni" groups are known to exist. From my knowledge in any case.  Bhaca, Hlubi, Nhlangwini, Swazi & Zizi are the Mbo Entity . The Mbo Entity often declassifies itself from the Nguni group. Nhlangwini & Swazi are under a Dlamini dynasty while the Hlubi & Zizi are also Dlamini tribes. Ngoni & Shangaan are of Ndwandwe origin (a tribe assimilated by the Zulu Empire). Bhaca, Hlubi, Ndebele, Nhlangwini, Shangaan, Zizi & some Mpondo are often classified as Zulu. While it's unknown whether Mpondo & Xhosa qualify as Nguni, they are often grouped as Nguni. The problem with a single African currency.

Preword: It's funny because one of the main reasons I found the courage to blog on African matters was due to a West African(?) gentleman who proposed the concept of a said "swal" & "zul" as a continental African currency in a blog. His boldness & conviction in his idea just captivated me & today I have to debunk this idea of his. But, hopefully, Africa sees why. African technologies & financial solutions Oh, Africa. We are so romantic; "United States of Africa", "Single African currency", "African unity", "Ubuntu"... all these fluffy, lovey-dovey concepts that will be ripped to shreds in the globalised world.  I debunked why a United States of Africa would likely collapse as soon as it sees the light of day. Today, I will debunk the concept of a "Single African currency" & explain why it would leave our enemies salivating.  I can't blame people who like stuff like United States of Africa...
