The problem with the broader world is we judge people of different lands by our own land's norms. In precolonial Africa, many crimes were punished by just a spear to the gut. No reform in jail. If you break a law, you have to flee the land or be killed. Today, such punishment is illegal in South Africa but we won't judge our forefathers for they lived in a different time despite them being known murderers. Muslims & Jews are homophobic by default because of their holy scripture. Now, if we say they must be inclusive towards homosexuals, to them that's being sinful & against their faith.  Some societies are extremely promiscuous & it's the (controversial) norm. Religious & developed countries might look at this behaviour of promiscuity & think it's degenerate behavior. We live in different lands, worlds, ideologies & cultures... we are not all alike. It's said that Muammar Gaddafi used to fund Irish rebels. I guess he also believed in a united Ireland. Looking at Ireland, you can see a chunk of the land (Northern Ireland) has been removed & incorporated into Great Britain. In the book Things Fall Apart , they also mention that Ireland has been colonised. Now, I wonder how much Ireland's colonisation is linked to Africa's colonisation. The political map of Ireland doesn't look complete with a part of it incorporated into the United Kingdom.  I think a united Ireland is also something the big brains of the world should look into. If it meant so much to an African icon like Gaddafi, I think Africans should look into this decolonised/united Ireland issue. Ireland uses English in their land more than their native Gaelic language... signs of a colonised land.

I once watched a video on YouTube called " Why America's (USA's) police look like soldiers ."  It leads me to think where the concept of "the police" comes from. In African society, I can equate the police to the chief's/king's warriors who would patrol the land's borders & enforce the land's & king's law. So I can understand why some police are militarised... I believe that they were once upon a time, both the land's warriors who defended the land & enforcers of the law in precolonial Africa.  Europe introduced the concept of separate law enforcers & soldiers in a land when the warriors in precolonial Africa simply did both. I'm just watching some of the matches of the 2023 FIBA World Cup & analysing how Deutschland won the cup. I'm currently watching them wipe Japan away by a twenty-point lead in the second quarter in one of the group stage matches if I'm not mistaken. Some may wonder why Rui Hachimura wasn't selected despite no news of him being injured, I'm not sure myself. Who really are the best footballers in the history of football?  Everyone has their opinion & I have my own. I base my list on talent & accolades, some may lean on one or the other but I think my list is balanced & these are both the most talented & decorated footballers in history. The only flaw may be that I felt I had to select defenders also so the list is not just purely attackers. There's a formula to calculate the best overall player for the conjectural Zulu "Iligi yesizwe" which also considers goalkeepers & defensive players as well as attacking players by how competent they are in play rather than who was more visible, but it has not been used here.
